Anna Coren, the presenter of the east coast edition of Today Tonight, is reportedly looking to leave Seven to work with American news channel CNN.
The recent Mercedes Corby defamation case, which cost the Seven Network $5 million, and other high profile events are believed to have created tension at Seven with reports suggesting both Coren and Seven are unimpressed with each other.
"She's had enough, and you get the impression that the feeling is mutual" one 'industry source' told The Daily Telegraph.
It is unclear when Coren, who still has six months left in her contract, plans to leave Seven.
Seven has refused to comment - as it always does when it comes to internal staff matters - but the network says it is aware of Coren's plans to move on.
Coren has been on leave for the past two weeks, with Samantha Armytage presenting the show in Coren's absence.
She returns to Today Tonight on Monday.
