Former National Nine News Perth presenter Sonia Vinci has quit the station to spend more time at home with her children.
Vinci was due to be the presenter of Channel Nine Perth's local edition of A Current Affair to be launched soon, but says her priorities remain with her children.
"I just figured that I couldn't give [A Current Affair] the commitment it really deserved and I want to spend more time with the kids at the moment", Vinci told WAtoday.com.au.
"I have enjoyed having more time with them over the last few months and just want to do that for the time being."
Former Seven News reporter Louise Momber has been announced as Vinci's replacement to present A Current Affair.
"Louise is a talented and dedicated TV journalist. She has impressed all of us since she joined the Nine News team and through her work on WIN News she proved herself to be a natural TV presenter - bringing a mixture of warmth and professionalism to the news desk", News Director Adrian Beattie said.
"I have no doubt she will be a great success in her new role."
Vinci started her career in 1990 at Perth radio station 6PR and later became Australia's youngest female news director. During her time at 6PR, Sonia also worked at Channel Seven Perth as a journalist for Seven News and also read sports news for Seven's Footy Show in 1994.
She later worked for regional station GWN as a news presenter before returning to 6PR and Channel Nine in 2000. She initially worked as a standby news presenter, but later became weeknight presenter on National Nine News with colleague Dixie Marshall.
A launch date for the local edition of A Current Affair has still not been released.
