  • Today Tonight misleading the public

    July 24 2008 8:29pm (UTC+8)  -  Article by Kevin

Today Tonight, the Seven Network's top rating current affairs show, is a show that prides itself on exposing fraudsters on national television for all to see. However, in an ironic twist the show tonight chose to promote one of those very people.

Tonight's report on a way to obtain access to a variety of subscription television channels online is nothing but a fraud. Whilst there certainly are ways to watch a number of subscription television channels online, many of them contain large amounts of pirated material and many are illegal.

These "internet channels" are all BS. Most of the sources are free publicly! For example, some of these "internet channel software" lineups include Al Jazeera, which is just the same feed of what you can get for free after a google search (in this case, the AJ website).

Furthermore, except the foreign news channels, none of the Foxtel channels were on both the free & $30 programs' lineups.

TT & ACA are just aimed for the gullible.

LOL a TT promo just aired on ATN which said for all of us to "forget about him" because "our viewers have found sites where you don't have to pay a cent" (or something like that).

If they make out like he is the bad guy (which he is, but so are they for not doing their research) then Media Watch and ACA need to be all over them.

They had better apologise for their stupidity in the first place, although I reckon we have no chance of that. <_<

I still don't understand why TT is promoting piracy at all.

If someone set up a rolling live stream of Seven, their lawyers would be all over it. Yet, for some reason, it's ok for them to promote what is happening to other television channels.

Balzan proudly boasts on his Facebook that he is "free as a bird and i dont care about what you say or what you think im in this world making it big"

My message to him - enjoy ripping people off while you can. The people who reported you to TVU Networks will have the last laugh :)

I downloaded the program and opened it, and every time I open it Norton tells me it has blocked an attempted attack. I opened up the details and it says the address the program uses is a known attacking website.

Anyone else know anything regarding this or experience the same thing?
