Former Nine News Perth weather presenter Natalia Cooper will replace Jeff Newman as the new weather presenter on Seven News.
"It's a great honour to be taking over from you", Cooper said to Newman in a live cross from London tonight. "I'm very excited about the opportunity and I can't wait to get home and join the team."
Cooper joined Nine Perth as a cadet in 2003 and in 2004 she replaced Todd Johnston as the weather presenter for National Nine News. In 2005 she began filling in as a newsreader on weekend bulletins and in 2007 she was appointed as the newsreader for Western Australia's WIN News bulletin which is presented from the WIN-owned studios of Nine Perth.
She quit her job at Nine in 2008 after five years to go travelling overseas.
Cooper will remain in London for the next month and will begin her new role on Seven upon her return to Perth.
