The Seven Network is number 1 for advertising revenue for the period July to December 2006 according to information released by Free TV Australia today. The first time (out of an olympics period) that Seven has beaten Nine in advertising revenue.
For the 6 months to December 31st 2006 across the 5 capital cities the breakdown was as follows;
Seven 35.89%
Nine 33.80%
Ten 30.32%
Brisbane was the only metro market to increases its advertising revenue, with Adelaide having the biggest fall down 5.259% on the corresponding period the previous year. There was better news for regional stations with all areas increasing on the previous period with the biggest increase in Queensland. Total revenue for free-to-air stations was down 0.973% on the same period last year.
