Tracey Challenor, the weekend presenter for Seven News in Brisbane, has signed off for the final time. An emotional Challenor thanked viewers for their support over the years, and said she was looking forward to having a break.
It was revealed late last year that Sharyn Ghidella (a newsreader on the Nine Network's Today show) was snapped up by Seven and would replace Challenor. She was then offered a new role with the network, but declined the offer and resigned.
Challenor began her television career at Seven Brisbane in 1991, doing work experience with the station while she studied at university. This led to a permanent role with the station as a reporter before she eventually was promoted to presenter.
Ghidella will present her first Seven News bulletin on Saturday, however she will only be seen on air for a short time before she goes on maternity leave.
