Finally. They took quite a while to sue Today Tonight.

scuse my ignorance, but why sue Anna? Unless she had something more direct (other then just present the story), why the need to sue her?

I agree. It's no secret that I don't rate Anna Coren very highly as a presenter, but I don't think she should be sued simply for doing her job. Sure, sue the Seven Network but leave the journalists out of it... they're just doing their job!

I don't think Seven have anything to worry about, there's no way those bogans could possibly keep Seven in court long enough for a verdict to be reached.

You can't sue an organisation for defamation, you can only sue individuals, hence why Anna and the reporter are being sued for defamation.

Well sue the producers who wrote the script. Not the person who's just paid to read it.

Well that's not really how it works...Anna and the reporter are the ones who defamed her. Obviously the on-air presenters/reporters would probably have a clause in their contracts specifying that if any defamation action was taken against them then the network would pay.

    I'd hope so. :)

It is not Anna's or Bryan's fault that they did the things that they did. They didn't choose. Ok, the Corbys should sue TT and the person who actually chose to put that story on TT.
