PBL Media has won it's first battle against Bruce Gordon's WIN Corporation after agreeing to buy Newcastle television station NBN for $250 million from SP Telemedia - outbidding the WIN Corporation by $50 million.
Now the attention shifts to Southern Cross owned Channel Nine Adelaide, where WIN and PBL could make a play for the affiliate.
PBL has somewhat gone on a shopping spree, hoping to take control of it's non-own affiliates in large markets.
But the news isn't all good for PBL; Sunraysia (the owner of Channel Nine Perth) has backed a bid from WIN Corporation's Bruce Gordon to purchase the station.
