WIN Corporation's Bruce Gordon and PBL Media's James Packer are reportedly joining forces in the battle to purchase Channel Nine Adelaide, which has been Adelaide's top rating station for 5 years, and is currently owned by Southern Cross Broadcasting.
Reports suggest that the two companies are considering a non-competitive offer for NWS-9 (Channel Nine Adelaide), which was the first television station to broadcast in South Australia. This comes just a day after PBL Media purchased Newcastle based television station NBN for $250 Million from SP Telemedia, outbidding WIN Corporation by $50 Million.
If Nine Adelaide is purchased, this would mean all metro Channel Nine stations will be owned by PBL and WIN, making a more manageable platform for advertisers looking to buy into the Nine Network.
