  • Seven agrees: It Takes Two is not "Dangerously Live" in SA and WA

    May 30 2007 2:47pm (UTC+8)  -  Article by Kevin

FIRST ON AM | The Seven Network has agreed to stop using the phrase 'Dangerously Live' in promos for the show It Takes Two in South Australia and Western Australia, following a complaint I sent to the network earlier this month.

I wrote to complain about the excessive and false use of the word 'Live' for promos and the opener for the show. In my letter, I said:

What for? They were doing the wrong thing, they acknowledged it, and are making changes :)

I'm sure they will still use the word "Live" on it's own, because the actual show is recorded live. I have no problem with that.

I did have a problem with everything I said in the letter. There was no reason why separate promos couldn't be made for SA and WA, and they have acknowledged that. That's all I wanted :)

I was most impressed with them dropping the "Live across Australia" in the opener so quickly. Although Denyer made that slip up last week, now that they've been informed of my complaint, hopefully we won't see a repeat of that. If Denyer uses that "Live across Australia" phrase again, then I'll write another letter :)

Thanks :) I don't believe in being quiet on issues that I feel strongly about. The "live" issue has always bugged me, and so I felt the need to say so.

I'm happy with the outcome and hopefully that will be the end of it :)

Yeah it says "Live" but not "Dangerously Live" or "Live across Australia", so it's all good :)

I didn't expect them to stop using the word live completely, but they really should be telling people what's live about it. (Don't worry, I'm not gonna write a letter about that ad :P)

The ad would've been placed weeks, if not months ago, so they probably wouldn't have been able to change it anyway.

Seven's "Tonight" teasers that used to contain Denyer saying "Dangerously Live" are no longer showing in Perth... instead, we have Denyer saying "Tonight on Seven" :D

    It's nice to know I've made such a difference :) :P

Seriousley, what difference does it make? who really gives a toss if its live opr not, Seven can't be blamed for you lot living 2hours in the past, you'd be bitching if they didn't show it, or any of the other live shows over there at all...

Then why bother promoting it as live if it doesn't matter then?

So we can't pass comment at all because they might take away our shows?

That's exactly right, and that's why I sent the letter. While it may not be a big deal to some, to me it is.

The word "live" is thrown around far too much these days (as is "exclusive"). I don't mind when the networks say something is live when it is live. When It Takes Two is aired in SA and WA, it's not live and therefore it shouldn't be promoted as such. Seven saw my points were valid, or else they would have told me where to go.
