• Samantha Armytage announced as new Weekend Sunrise co-host

  Channel Seven newsreader Samantha Armytage is now the newest member of the so called 'Sunrise Family', being announced this morning as the new co-host for Weekend Sunrise, along side Andrew O'Keefe. She'll start this Sunday.
  
  Executive producer Adam Boland auditioned many hopefuls from the Seven network, and from other rival networks, but decided to give the role to 4.30 News presenter Samantha Armytage.
  
  "This will be my first time co-hosting a show but I have read the news a couple of times on Weekend Sunrise," she told News Ltd. newspapers.
  
  "Hopefully it will be a lot fun, he (O'Keefe) is so dynamic, a superstar who is so fun, quick and incredibly intelligent.
  
  "I'm lucky to be sitting next to him in this big step up."
  
  Former co-host of Weekend Sunrise Lisa Wilkinson left the Seven Network a month ago, and took up the co-hosting position of the Nine Networks 'Today Show'.
  
  Armytage will continue to read the 4.30 News on weekdays.
