• Seven extends high definition trial to Adelaide and Perth

  The Seven Network has extended their trial of the 1080i high definition (HD) format to the Adelaide and Perth markets today. This follows testing carried out in Sydney in Melbourne which began back in March of this year.
  
  The network has previously stated they will analyse the results of the tests (with regard to transmission format and bandwidth utilisation) and make a final decision on what format to use later in the year.
  
  Brisbane is now the only market where Seven is still using the 576p "enhanced definition" format. It is unclear at this stage when or if the 1080i trial will be carried out in Brisbane.
