  • Leigh McClusky to leave Today Tonight Adelaide

    July 6 2007 5:42pm (UTC+8)  -  Article by Pun

UPDATED | FIRST ON AM | Leigh McClusky, presenter of the Adelaide edition of Today Tonight, will be leaving the program in six weeks after announcing tonight that she is pregnant with twins. McClusky returned from maternity leave just last year in August, after giving birth to her previous child.

She made the emotional announcement tonight, thanking the Adelaide community for their support, and how she'll miss presenting the local edition of TT. She also revealed how she'll be leaving the program on the 17th of August.

McClusky began hosting the Adelaide edition of Today Tonight in 1995, and is the longest serving presenter of TT in Australia, starting hosting when the program first screened.

A replacement for Leigh hasn't yet been named, but it's possible news reporter Rosanna Mangiarelli will take up the position. She filled in last year for Leigh while she was on maternity leave, and is now always used as a replacement when Leigh is ill.

UPDATE: According to the Adelaide Sunday Mail, as predicted, Rosanna Mangiarelli will host the Adelaide edition of Today Tonight from August 20th.

There's absolutely no way Seven Adelaide would be stupid enough to just feed the east cost version of TT. Take my word for it :P.

I'd really like to see Rosanna take over.

I think she would do well, and I can't see it being anyone else :)
