Radio and TV personality Stan Zemanek dies
Radio personality Stan Zemanek has died at the age of 60, just 14 months after being diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour in May last year.

Zemanek began his radio career in 1987 and spent the majority of his time at Sydney's talkback station 2UE where the "shock-jock" was never shy when it came to arguing and exchanging insults with his callers.

Apart from his distinguished radio career, the popular media personality will also be remembered for his role as host of FOXTEL's "Beauty and the Beast".

Stan is survived by his wife Marcella, two daughters Gaby and Melissa, and two grandchildren.

UPDATE | The family of Stan Zemanek have announced his funeral will be held early next week and will be open to colleagues and fans. The funeral will be held on Tuesday July 17 at North Sydney's St Mary's Catholic Church, at 10.30am (AEST). It will be followed by a private cremation.

I dunno about 'oxygen thief' (I don't think he was that bad), but he did have his moments. He gave the term 'shock jock' a new meaning.

Agreed. No matter how much of a bastard someone is, no one deserves cancer.
