The Seven Network have told Dancing with the Stars host, Daryl Somers, that his new "Hey Hey It's Saturday" style show just isn't going to happen. Somers had been planning to film a pilot episode of the new show next Saturday.
The Daily Telegraph's Sydney Confidential says "The management move makes sense, given the number of shows-in-the-making on overload at Seven."
There are a number of "shows-in-the-making" at Seven at the moment. Sonia Kruger and Andrew O'Keefe last night filmed the pilot for their new show, AOK Tonight. Former Sunrise weather presenter Grant Denyer also filmed a pilot for his new talk show over two weeks ago, but former Today Tonight host Naomi Robson's plans for her own talk show where shelved by Seven management.
Rumours suggest Seven may have used these offers to keep some stars happy during contract negotiations, allowing the network to prevent some of them from being poached by the other networks.
It is believed that Somers would now put a new proposal to management later in the year. If that was approved, then a pilot would be filmed early next year.
