  • Kostakidis walks out

    August 21 2007 3:50pm (UTC+8)  -  Article by Ben

Prominant SBS Television newreader Mary Kostakidis has reportedly stormed out of the newsroom, and never returned.

Recent changes to the SBS news bulletin are believed to be the reason why Kostakidis left the network.

However SBS have denied that Kostakidis has left, saying she is unwell and has requested sick leave.

Kostakidis’ has a three-year contract with SBS which remains to be seen out, and sources close to her have said she is planning legal action against the network.

SBS extended its nightly news bulletin by 30 minutes earlier this year, and added commercial breaks which Kostakidis argued undermined the standards of the network.

More details as they come to hand.

And the ACA report on this served as a perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black.

Why, you ask? Because if a female Nine star falls pregnant, there's no guarantee she'll be welcomed back after having the baby. Cases in point: Jessica Rowe and Kim Watkins.
