Regional Broadcasting Australia (RBA) have announced the appointment of WIN Corporation CEO George Papadopoulos as Chairman of the organisation, replacing former Chairman Tony Bell (Southern Cross CEO) after 4 years.
Papadopoulos is only the third Chairman of RBA. Following in the footsteps of John Rushton and outgoing Chairman Tony Bell, Papadopoulos continues the wealth of regional broadcasting experience that Rushton and Bell have provided the organisation.
Mr Bell said "I am very pleased we have someone of George's calibre to lead RBA".
Papadopoulos thanked Bell for his leadership and guidance to the members of RBA, and said "It is an honour to have been elected Chairman by my regional peers, having learnt regional broadcasting from the ground up at WIN TV and I am humbled to take over from Tony".
RBA is an organisation which represents regional broadcasters on issues unique to regional broadcasting, particularly as they roll out their digital services and move to switch off analogue services. RBA's marketing arm, Regional Television Marketing (RTM) has also built up a reputation as a provider of quality regional marketing information to advertisers and agencies.
Current members of RBA are Southern Cross Broadcasting, WIN Television, Prime Television and NBN Television.
