WIN Television is expected to announce that it will predominantly take the Seven Network's programming for the Limestone Coast area in South Australia, including SA's second largest city Mount Gambier, Naracoorte, Millicent and Bordertown, and the Riverland towns of Berri, Loxton, Barmera and Renmark.
Tensions have been high with Nine Management and the WIN Network's owner Bruce Gordon, after rejecting to renew the contract with Channel Nine, saying the cost is too expensive. Moves to replace Nine programming is already under way at WIN channels across Australia, replacing morning talk show 'Mornings with Kerri-Anne' with a children's program, and the Win Network's own product 'Susie'. Also programs such as Fresh, and Channel Nine’s Morning news have been scrapped, with 'The Brady Bunch' replacing Nine's 'Antique Roadshow' at 5.30.
The disagreement over the contract with the Nine Network was sparked over Nine asking for 40% of gross advertising revenue, with WIN wanting to pay less than 30%. WIN is also asking for only a 3 year deal for programming, with Channel Nine expected to be asking for a 10 year contract.
The program supplying deal with the Nine Network expired in July.
