Kelly Nestor will join Channel Nine Adelaide's news desk in October, sharing the presenting duties with Rob Kelvin. She's been named as the new co-presenter, replacing the late Kevin Crease who died in April this year.
Nestor will start at NWS9 next month, with Nine Adelaide news director Tony Agars saying Nestor was chosen based on previously proving herself in a newsreading role.
Nestor started off presenting Ten News for 5 years, and then started a short stint at ABC News before moving to Sky News Australia.
"I'm absolutely thrilled. I feel like everything I've done before was a rehearsal for this role," Nestor said yesterday.
When Nestor announced she'd leave Ten News in late 2005 she was asked if she'd ever consider moving back to Adelaide if she was offered a presenter position. She replied no, saying that she'd "been there, done that".
Nine Adelaide's new owners WIN Television will be hoping Nestor will affect the bulletins ratings; the bulletin is being regularly beaten by Seven News Adelaide this year, unlike previous rating surveys where Nine has come out on top.
