IN BRIEF | The family of Network Ten newsreader Charmaine Dragun are in mourning again, following the death of her uncle, Lewis Bedford, in a major bushfire in Western Australia.
60 year old Bedford was one of the truck drivers killed west of Kalgoorlie on Sunday, when a roadblock was re-opened that allowed truck drivers to drive right in to the middle of the massive fire as it roared back towards the highway.
Bedford was the brother of Dragun's mother, Estelle, and he leaves behind two children.
Mrs Dragun said her brother had told her he had no regrets about his life.
It has only been two months since Ms Dragun took her own life at The Gap in Sydney after a long battle with depression.
Investigations are continuing into Bedford's death.
