WIN Corporation, owner of Australia's largest commercial network, today announced the appointment of David Butorac as the Corporation's new Managing Director.

This newly created role, which will also see Mr Butorac join the WIN Corporation Board, is in line with the expansion of the Gordon family's media interests.

Speaking about the appointment, WIN Corporation's owner Bruce Gordon said, "David Butorac is a highly experienced media Executive with over 25 years in the industry. He brings to our organization a level of knowledge that will allow us to continue the strong growth we have already achieved and take us to the next level in the multi-media world."

Andrew Gordon, Chairman of WIN Corporation said today "As the largest commercial network in Australia with 26 regional and 4 capital cities stations covering each of the six states, we believe David's vast understanding will be of enormous benefit. His industry experience and lateral thinking will also be a great asset to our other radio, broadcast services, production and pay tv businesses. I welcome him to the Board and the Executive team."

As the new Managing Director, Mr Butorac said he was pleased to be taking on the role at an exciting time in the Corporation's growth. "Joining WIN is a great opportunity and I'm pleased to be back in Australia. WIN's reputation is outstanding and their recent acquisitions in metro markets positions them strongly within the Australian media landscape which itself is facing change. To return to such a great organization and be part of their future plans is something I'm really excited about," Mr Butorac said.

Prior to taking up this position, Mr Butorac was President (Platforms) for the Star Group Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the News Corporation based in Hong Kong. Before that, he was Group Chief Operating Officer of Astro All Asia Networks Plc. (AAAN), Malaysia's largest media group, where he was employed from 2002-2006. He was a Director and Chief Operating Officer of Measat Broadcast Network Systems (MBNS) from September 2003 and November 2002 respectively.

Mr Butorac also spent 14 years with British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) in London. He held a series of positions with BSkyB including Head of Operations of Sky News (1989-1992), Head of Operations BSkyB (1992-1995) and Station Manager (1995-2002). On secondment from BSkyB, Mr Butorac was Operations Director for the launch of Foxtel in Australia (1995). Prior to 1989, Mr Butorac worked in television news broadcasting in Australia and the UK.
