    A Melbourne pub faces the possibility of being held in contempt of court proceedings after it publicly screened the first episode of the Nine Network drama series 'Underbelly' to its patrons.

    A ruling earlier in the week had ordered Nine not to screen the program in Victoria after concerns it could prejudice the jury in an upcoming murder trial.

    Even though the pub should have known not to have the feed on I think WIN should be more liable.

    How so?? The WIN feed that the pub screened is a feed intended for viewing only in regional Western Australia. The feed is encrypted on satellite to help ensure that it cannot be seen in areas outside of WA.

    Of course there are people with dodgy CA cards (and in some cases legit Aurora cards registered under addresses outside of their home state) that are able to unencrypt the satellite signal for viewing, but I don't see how WIN can be blamed for that.

    Imparja would have been their first choice I'd imagine - and I reckon then you could safely say the network would be liable as they don't encrypt on Optus D1. But the publican would have sought other methods after seeing this:
