The Seven Network has entered into a retransmission agreement with FOXTEL to make its digital signal available to cable subscribers in coming weeks with satellite subscribers in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane able to view Seven via FOXTEL in 2009.
Seven is the last of the free-to-air broadcasters to join the FOXTEL platform after Network Ten joined the subscription television platform late last year. The Nine Network, as well as public broadcasters ABC and SBS, have already been available for viewing on pay television for many years.
Under the deal Seven will make it's standard definition digital signal available for retransmission on FOXTEL as well as provide programming data for the FOXTEL electronic program guide.
Channel Seven was previously only available as an analog retransmission to cable subscribers via FOXTEL.
FOXTEL's Executive Director of Content, Patrick Delany, has told the Sky News Business Channel that all of the free-to-air networks will be available in high definition via FOXTEL HD once additional satellite capacity becomes available early next year following the launch of the Optus D3 satellite.

Also, I really think Foxtel's excuse about fuck all satellite space is just a myth. 10 channels now have either been launched or announced since late last year. (3x Tens, 3x Sevens and 4x HD channels) - I thought C1 was full?
