Nine Perth weather presenter and WIN Newsreader Natalia Cooper today resigned from the station after five years. She says she is leaving the station to travel overseas.
Cooper joined the station as a cadet in 2003, and in 2004 she replaced Todd Johnston as the weather presenter for the nightly bulletin. In 2005 she began filling in as a newsreader on weekend bulletins and late last year she was appointed as the newsreader for the WIN News WA bulletin which is presented from the Perth studios of STW.
Speaking on her departure, Ian McRae the General Manager of Nine Perth and WIN WA told PerthNow, "We are proud to have been involved with Natalia’s career development and to see her come of age as a presenter. As well as being popular with viewers, Natalia has been a big hit on regular school visits and is also a very popular member of the National Nine and WIN NEWS teams. She has made a great contribution and will be missed by all. Natalia was a logical choice to present WIN NEWS once we began News presentation from our studios in Western Australia. Natalia leaves with our very best wishes."
A departure date has yet to be announced.
