Are we in WA doing something to scare all of these people away? We have lost so many media personalities (for various reasons) over the past year... very sad.

They're probably sick of not having extended trading hours and living with so many backward dropkicks that are against DS! :D

No. After Deb it was Tom Baddeley then Paul Lockyer then Alicia Gorey.

Big loss for WA, although great pick-up for GTV. Hopefully she'll do fill-in reading as welll. I am surprised she didn't go to ABC Melbourne though... they could have used her as the third reader...

I think she just wants to get away from that (removed) person who reads the weather.

The bearded one. His name eludes me, tim or is it marty, or filburt something similar.

Your loss, our gain. She'll be wasted at GTV just reporting though.

Couldn't agree with you more. Alicia attracted a fair amount of criticism of her news presentation skills (eg one post [not here] said she needed to be more authoritative), but I found that she balanced her castings. I think whoever gets the gig will have the job before them.

First time this has happened on AM.

Gregorius - we have Rule 15 in place for a reason. You can debate almost anything on this site, and you can swear and carry on as much as you want (for the most part) - but you can not discuss the appearance of any member of the media here. Whether they're ugly, look like a baby, bloke or woman doesn't matter. It is not relevant to any discussion we want on this site.

Maybe the person you're talking about is all of those things, I don't know because I don't know who you're talking about. However, whether anyone else agrees with you or not, Rule 15 is one of the few actual rules we have here and everyone is required to adhere to it.

Second warning. Third time and you're out.

Would the ABC News ever follow that of Seven, Nine and Ten and have two presenters for the weeknight news?

They tried about 4 years ago in Sydney with Juanita Phillips and Tony Eastley and it didn't last long.
